That’s right - Iowa Voice has gone wild! Iowa Voice will no longer be a conservative political blog (the pundits have moved to Liberty Pundit - go check it out), rather it will become an Iowa-centric and Iowa-inspired photoblog chronicling the people, places, events, news, and wildlife of Iowa and the Midwest. As there are only so many events and places, there will be a heavy emphasis on wildlife photography and environmental news.
Just to let you know how things will go around here… For the first few days (or weeks), I will be importing old posts from my previous photoblog, Midwestern Wilderness. I will import them with their original timestamp, so they will all appear below this post in chronological order, starting from the first post (last January). Each day I will import a half a dozen or so posts. At the same time, I will present new material. The new material will go above this post and will be posted in the normal fashion.
Saturdays around here will be “Photo Hunt” day. TNChick picks a theme and your photo of the day must correspond.
Sundays will be Green Thumb Sunday, where we will post photos from the garden.
The rest of the days of the week will be miscellaneous items, from photos of different wildlife I’ve taken with my Canon Digital Rebel XT, to covering events like Ragbrai, the Bix, the State Fair, and other Iowa and Midwestern events. Like I said, there are only so many events, so expect lots of pure nature photoblogging.
Of course, I need to thank Brian, now of Liberty Pundit, for a) selling me the domain, b) helping me set everything up, and c) helping me troubleshoot this site as it gets up and running.
Don’t forget to bookmark us or sign up for the RSS feed!
Also, make sure to check back on Friday afternoon. I’ll be starting the new posting with a prize giveaway.
PS - I’ll be adding to the blogroll, building the sidebars, etc. as we go along.
This blog is about: Iowa, Illinois, Midwest, United States, nature, wildlife, animals, birds, ornithology, insects, bugs, entomology, Davenport, Bettendorf, Rock Island, Moline, Quad, City, Cities
