While the Quad Cities has thusfar been spared relative to the rest of Iowa and the Midwest, the Mississippi is not supposed to crest until late tonight or early tomorrow, so there is damage yet to be done.

Looks like the Conoco is open for boat service… I’m not sure I’d let my kids wallow around in that water…

Hoping the house is spared when the river crests.

If the cars behind you were under water and the river still had not crested, wouldn’t you move your cars? It’s not like he hasn’t had ample time to do so.

Michelle Malkin? Yikes. I’m quite surprised to see a link to her site here. It’s kind of funny - the normal posts of Iowa wildlife always sooth the nerves when I visit here, but seeing her name evoked some sort of a visceral blood boil. Hilarious. Ah well.

Your photos are amazing! I hope your city is spared from too much more damage Moe. At least they’ve taken the rain out of the forecast for the rest of the week. That will help.

Matt - Was following links and she had linked to an Iowa site (Liberty Pundit) that was looking for donations. I linked it simply to say that bigger people were getting involved and trying to raise money / awareness, etc.

Sally - I hope so! We’re pretty used to flooding around here. As long as we don’t get the major flooding like we had in 1993 most people won’t bat an eye.

The flooding is horrible! Thanks for the updates!

I keep finding pics of Iowa that just blow my mind. I’m originally from C.R. but I moved to Portland, OR in late ‘02. I remember the flood of ‘93 well but it seems like it doesn’t even come close to the floods this year. Just a couple days ago there was a post on one of the motorcycle drag racing forums asking about the Klemme’s. I assume your friends are the same Klemme’s that are always at Cordova, correct?

    Moe Says:

Yes, those are the same Klemme’s. I have not followed up to see if they got any water in the shop.
