Crane Fly – unknown species

This crane fly – only a few millimeters long – snuck in with the cats on one of our cold, Spring days following a bout of unusually warm weather. He parked on the counter and appeared to warm up.

Photo taken with the Canon Digital Rebel XT / 350D and a Sigma 70-300mm Lens on March 26, 2009, in Davenport, Iowa.

This was taken in your house? This is an interesting picture. It almost looks like it was taken outside in the fog. Neat effect.

This is right in the kitchen, right next to the sink, actually. It was evening, and I didn’t bother adding much light to the room.

Nice. Love those gangly crane flies.
